Tiger’s Alleged Mistress’ Grandfather Was Golfer

PALM BEACH POST gossip Jose Lambiet has fresh intel today on Tiger Woods‘ alleged mistress, Rachel Uchitel.

Uchitel is the granddaughter of powerful Cleveland banker and amateur golfer Warner Bishop, who moved to The Island with a much younger wife in the 1990s. He died in 2001 at 82. And her mom is socialite Susan Bishop.

Portsmouth v Manchester United and the Dubious Penalty

Not that it mattered much in the end, but Saturday in the Premier League saw Mike Dean (with the help of his linesman Richard West on one instance) award three penalties, one of which must have been one of, if not the most dubious penalty this season in the Premier League.

Manchester United looked a bit sluggish in the first 15-20 minutes and weathered an early storm of Pompey attack. Sir Alex Ferguson was perched high above the pitch in the director’s box and seemed to show Source: EPL Talk RSS Feed

Report: Tiger Woods Wife Caused Facial Injuries

TMZ reports Saturday morning that in a conversation with, “a non-law enforcement type“, Tiger Woods said that his wife Elin Nordegren caused his “facial lacerations“.

We’re told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. It was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV — but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club.Source: SPORTSbyBROOKS RSS Feed

Aroldis Chapman Fires Little Known Agent

Aroldis Chapman, the Cuban defector who will be one of the most sought after free agents this offseason, has decided to fire his little known agent. Edwin Mejia, who even hardcore baseball insiders had never heard of until he became Chapman’s agent, was given the heave-ho.

Randy and Alan Hendricks are Chapman’s agents. The Hendricks brothers are known for representing a number of players including Andy Pettitte of the New York Yankees.

Fox Soccer Channel Misses Live Coverage Of EPL Goal Fests

While playing with my kids on Sunday morning, I checked Twitter for a minute and was astonished to see that Jermain Defoe had just scored a hat trick for Tottenham Hotspur. What Went Right: The Midseason Pickups

Over the next week or so, we’ll again break down what went wrong and what went right for the 2009 Yankees. The series this year will be much more enjoyable than the last.

While the big offseason additions received the majority of the media and fan attention during the season (rightfully so), the little moves the team made to tweak the roster midseason also played a key role in bringing them to the promised land.

What Went Right: Injury Bouncebacks

Over the next week or so, we’ll again break down what went wrong and what went right for the 2009 Yankees. The series this year will be much more enjoyable than the last.

At this time last year, the Yankees roster was anything but set. They had a huge offer out to CC Sabathia, and planned to pursue at least one other starting pitcher. That would help shore up the rotation, but clearly there were no guarantees. On top of that, the Yankees powerhouse offense went out with a whimper in Source: River Avenue Blues RSS Feed

Boston Coll’s “Beanpot Trot” Like A Musical Fart

With so many sports going on during this season, we often forget to pay any attention to college hockey. And if more videos like this surface, college hockey is going to wish we wouldn’t.

Economy Might Ruin LeBron, Wade and Bosh’s Sleepover

A source for the Miami Heat told Chud Ford this past week they were working on a way to take over the world by getting LeBron James and Chris Bosh to play with the fashionably electric Dwyane Wade next season.

Exciting U.S. Draw With Costa Rica Sends Honduras to World Cup

Cal Preps For UCLA Tilt With Seven-Hour Bus Ride

During the current recession, one of the main areas hit hardest have been lavish expenditures by large organizations - particularly, oh, athletic departments at major universities. They’ve been inured, however, to their current standards of luxury; familiarity and routine will do that.
